Open Text Corporation, the largest independent provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software, has been awarded salesforce.com’s 2006 Top Integrator Appy Award for integrating salesforce.com with its SAP and other systems. The Salesforce.com Appy Awards recognize customers, partners and developers who drive innovation and customer success on the Business Internet through the use of Salesforce applications. Open Text completed the complex integration project in days using Cast Iron Systems’ iA3000-SF integration appliance, which enables bi-directional data synchronization through the use of drag-and-drop configuration tools, instead of coding.

“When we acquired Hummingbird Ltd., we inherited a huge amount of customer data housed in a variety of software applications,” said Sean Coutts, director of IS at Open Text Corporation “Cast Iron’s iA3000-SF appliance enabled us to integrate these complex systems rapidly without disrupting our new customers — a feat now recognized by salesforce.com. We wouldn’t have won salesforce.com’s Top Integrator Appy Award without the Cast Iron integration appliance.”

Cast Iron Systems’ application integration appliances enable companies to complete projects in days, instead of months, using a “configuration-not-coding” approach. The company’s iA3000-SF line of appliances are purpose-built for synchronizing information between salesforce.com and all major applications and endpoints, including SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, Informix, DB2, flat files (FTP/HTTP), XML and Web services.

“Cast Iron is pleased to have helped Open Text win this prestigious salesforce.com award,” said Ram Gupta, CEO of Cast Iron Systems. “As more companies adopt on-demand applications, we are rapidly becoming the de-facto standard for completing their integration projects quickly.”

Another Appy Award winner, Magma Design Automation, uses Cast Iron integration appliances to augment and customize its sophisticated salesforce.com deployment.

“We are heavy users of salesforce.com and have been able to significantly augment our salesforce.com deployment using Cast Iron integration appliances,” said Chip Vanek, director of corporate and CRM Systems at Magma Design Automation. “Our business analysts use the Cast Iron appliance to quickly add sophisticated business rules and alerts that fire based on real-time data collected in salesforce.com. The best part is that it’s all done with clicks, instead of coding.”
