8:55 am   -   February 26th, 2007

Salesforce.com (NYSE:CRM) , the market and technology leader in on-demand business services, has received the 7th Annual Excellence in Corporate Philanthropy Award for Small Company from the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP). The Salesforce.com Foundation was founded in 1999 and operates under salesforce.com’s 1/1/1/1 Model — a commitment to deliver 1% Time, 1% Equity, 1% Product to nonprofit organizations and to be “one” with the earth.

Since its inception, salesforce.com and its employees have given over 40,000 hours of their time, given millions of dollars in grants, donated product to more than 1600 nonprofits and announced the recent Earthforce initiative which is neutralizing the effect of salesforce.com’s major areas of carbon consumption through the strategic purchase of carbon offsets.

The selection committee was made up of 13 members from a mix of corporate and non profit backgrounds, including previous recipients of the award. Committee members included Bob Corcoran of GE, Ray Horton of Columbia Business School, David Kirkpatrick of Fortune Magazine, Tae Yoo of Cisco Systems and Brad Googins of The Center for Corporate Citizenship at Boston College.

The 7th Annual CECP Excellence Awards luncheon was held in New York today and was attended by over 130 CEOs, industry leaders and members of the press to congratulate the winners and hear remarks from each of the honorees. The awards were given out by David Kirkpatrick of Fortune Magazine. February 26th is also National Corporate Philanthropy Day, which is aimed at building awareness of philanthropic achievements, sharing the benefits of corporate giving, and inspiring businesses across the country to engage further in philanthropy.

In conjunction with National Corporate Philanthropy Day, the Salesforce.com Foundation is hosting an event to launch their latest most ambitious program to date — The Power of Us. This program is focused on bringing together salesforce.com partners to help them make a significant social impact on their communities. The launch event will be a networking and educational conference held at Le Parker Meridian in New York.
