Salesforce.com Helps Bear Stearns Asset Management Achieve CRM Success with On-Demand Applications

Salesforce.com (NYSE:CRM) , the market and technology leader in on-demand business services, today announced that Bear Stearns Asset Management has successfully deployed Salesforce SFA, Salesforce Service & Support and applications downloaded from the salesforce.com AppExchange directory.

Bear Stearns Asset Management (BSAM) is using Salesforce to consolidate global customer data and integrate multiple critical business systems for portfolio performance management, billing, subscriptions and reporting. These operational improvements have delivered significant business benefits including greater visibility into the sales cycle, improved customer response times, and high user adoption.

Bear Stearns is one of the 29,800 companies of all sizes, industries and geographies that comprised the salesforce.com customer base as of January 31, 2007. Revenue and subscribers will be recognized as the service is delivered.

“We implemented Salesforce in only six weeks, and it immediately enabled us to gain greater insight into our sales pipeline and across all of our customer interactions,” said Rajan Govindan, senior managing director and COO of BSAM. “Since our deployment, we now have many global users who take advantage of the Salesforce application on a daily basis.”

BSAM used applications from the AppExchange directory to easily customize its Salesforce applications for its particular needs including:

- Profundcom.net, which specializes in financial services and hedge funds, enabled BSAM to build an interface with salesforce.com to track sales and marketing campaigns
- The Workflow Tool that helped build and manage both internal and client-related business processes for BSAM

“The AppExchange is an easy way to add functionality to Salesforce and continually improve our business processes,” added Mr. Govindan. “Looking forward, we’re planning to deploy AppExchange Mobile to our greater user base so our sales team has fast and easy access to customer data while traveling. The Apex on-demand platform is generally available today. The Apex programming language is available today for developer preview, and is currently scheduled to be available in beta to salesforce.com customers later in 2007.
